Bite’s team grows – Anna Barath joins

Bite recently welcomed Anna Barath as Investment Director in London, to drive the continued growth of Bite’s fund offering across private equity as well as other alternatives asset classes globally. In her previous roles at KIC, the $180bn sovereign wealth fund of South Korea, and the £80bn Universities Superannuation Scheme, two of some of the largest asset managers globally, she worked on combined capital commitments of $4.4bn across 41 fund and co-investment deals in private equity, credit, infrastructure and real estate. At Bite, Anna will lead the fund sourcing, selection and diligence activities of Bite.
A British and Hungarian national, Anna holds an MA in Finance from IE Business School and a BA in International Business Economics from Corvinus University of Budapest. She recently passed the CFA Level III exam and is awaiting the confirmation of her charter.

1) Tell us a bit about your background: how does your experience in private markets prepare you for your new role at Bite?
AB: I have been working across private markets for nearly a decade, investing globally across private equity, credit, growth & venture capital, infrastructure, and real estate, including funds and co-investments. I have also been fortunate to work and build relationships with a diverse group of institutional investors, including GPs, LPs and advisors. As Bite continues to build out its alternatives platform, broadening access to private markets strategies for a diverse group of high net worth investors, I aim to build on my institutional experience to deliver solid long-term returns to our clients.

2) What attracted you to Bite?
AB: The opportunity to be at the forefront of the unprecedented value creation and digitisation drive that is happening in private markets today and the fantastic smart and motivated group of people making it happen!

3) Reflecting on an extraordinary year and the future of alternative investments, what are your thoughts?
AB: The past 18 months have changed not only the way we work, but also highlighted and sped up several secular trends: digitisation, democratisation of financial services, ESG, AI, to name a few, and private markets still have quite some runway catch up with these trends. In addition, private wealth, the source of the capital we deploy, is a relatively untapped space and probably the largest area of growth in alternatives today – and that is precisely what makes working on Bite’s mission so exciting.

4) What difference do you hope to bring to the firm?
AB: In addition to my broad private markets experience and relationships, I am also hoping to contribute to diversity and sustainability goals at the firm – values that are very much at the heart of my credo.
